3.2.x Bug Report / Feedback Thread

Anyway, I converted the screenshot from png to jpg so that I could upload it.

My remark would be about GF's "注意" notes: currently it's in the following format: 注意 口语中也读 zuosi。
Could you do something about the 注意 part to make it stand out from the rest of the entry? E.g. underline it and/or put colon after 注意?

Simply putting a colon would already make a nice difference --> 注意: 口语中也读 zuosi。

I believe in the old days this little black pointing finger was used ☛

It's bold in other fonts - should be underlined in fonts that lack a bold weight (as with headwords in examples), will investigate why that's not working.

When using the Document Reader, I can advance to the next word with the arrow keys in the bottom row. Now I am using an iPad Pro with a keyboard attached and this keyboard has cursor keys (its the standard apple cover with built-in keyboard). Unfortunately, I can not use the cursor keys to move forward, although this would be pretty nice. Please consider implementing this. As to the arrow keys that expand, I think most naturally would be to use shift-arrow for this on the keyboard.
All the best,
Chris

Thanks - not sure why we don't support this now, actually.
Well, it might be because the onscreen keyboard does not have cursor keys, which I always found annoying. Anyway, I am looking forward to a future version which implements this:-(.
And, just to state the obvious, it seems that all of these buttons would benefit from being available through a keyboard shortcut; the other one I most frequently use is the "copy to clipboard", which allows me to look the word in question up in other dictionaries:)

Yeah, we've been kind of holding off on keyboard optimization in general in the hopes that Apple would come up with a desktop-input-on-iPad API that looked less like a cobbled-together rush job than what they have now, but if that doesn't emerge in iOS 11 we'll probably do a run of optimization with what they do have.

Just a quick bug report for something that has been annoying me for the past week or so. When reading a PDF file in the document reader, often the definition popup window gets "stuck" and is impossible to dismiss with the result that I am unable to continue reading the document. I am able to leave the reader and use Pleco normally but the moment I return to the reader, the definition popup window is still stuck. The only way to solve the problem is by force quitting Pleco and reopening. I have encountered this problem almost everytime I use the PDF document reader in Pleco.

Thanks - might be a bug in our PDF reader library, we're in the process of updating that for our next bug-fix release so we'll take a look and hopefully have this sorted for that.

In Manage Dictionary Groups screen, might it be possible to add some visual tags to indicate:
1) The dialect of the dictionary, if applicable (ie. Cantonese)?
2) Any dictionaries not assigned to ANY custom group?

There doesn't seem to be a 3.2.17 bug report thread so I'll pop it here.

When I'm doing flashcard tests with audio on, the first time I hit the speaker button to play the audio, it stops my music (not expected behaviour). When I hit the speaker button again for the same flashcard, it leaves my music playing (expected). When I do it for the next flashcard, the music stops again (not expected).

My music never stops when the app auto-plays audio, only that first time I hit the speaker button.

I've reproduced this on an iPhone 6 (iOS 10.3.1) with all test types. With stroke order and tone practice tests, it's only stopping my music when I hit the speaker button after the answer is revealed. It happens whether the mute switch is on or off.

Everything else seems to be solid as a rock.

Thanks!

Hmm... do you by any chance have the "disable audio session" option in Settings / Audio turned on?

It happens muted and unmuted, with and without headphones. This behaviour is new with 3.2.17. I didn't change any settings, just ran through my flashcards as normal.

Could be an issue with audio sessions being started / stopped as we go into that mute-able mode we added in 3.2.17 - does it help any if you turn on that 'disable audio session' option?

Just checking in here (before I update) to see if the lyrics reader is still working in the 3.2.17 update. I am one of those few people who use it a lot with downloaded Chinese lessons. At the moment it's working fine with 3.2.16, despite bugginess in the lyrics function itself created by Apple. Just wanted to mention, Love 皇帝, that I appreciate your keeping this function going despite the curve balls Apple is throwing you!

That didn't make any difference either. It's weird how this new bug seems to happen regardless of any other setting or condition, and weird that it only happens the first time for any given flashcard.

@Paul Duke - we didn't actively remove it and we aren't aware of any system change that would cause problems with it, and checking on my device just now it seems to work fine.
