Hi, Mike. As I understand it, Azure neural TTS is recently available on-device/disconnected and also includes word-by-word tracking. However, if most users are satisfied with legacy technology or it's not profitable to develop further in any case, I get it.
The Siri ones don't seem to be accessible, no; the APIs give us access to I think 7 in total but seemingly not those.
It's not available on iOS yet, unfortunately:

Embedded Speech is designed for on-device scenarios where cloud connectivity is intermittent or unavailable.

It also seems to mostly be intended as an enterprise thing, they aren't really set up to license it for use on consumer devices; the main use case they're imagining seems to be industrial systems without reliable network access. (which probably explains the lack of iOS support)
One thing we have considered is using a cloud TTS engine to generate time-keyed audio recordings for example sentences and readers, which you would then download and play locally; you'd end up with effectively the same behavior as an offline TTS but without it having to actually run in Pleco. (main downside is that it'd take up a lot more storage space, but probably not enough to be a problem on modern devices)

While I read in the clipreader I dont want the volume buttons to control my movements in the clipreader I just want them to control the volume. Now when I want to adjust spotify audio while going over words it is changing what word im looking at and stuff.

I have a suggestion for flashcard module (write-in test) coloring:
to make right answers black on white squares, and incorrect ones - white on black (inversed).
Currently there are green squares for correct answers and red - for the incorrect ones (the text is black in both).
Reason: I (and I guess many users) use tone coloring and already got used to it and it is very useful.
But when I see my answers in red and green, I instinctively render them as appropriate tones, which could lead to a mis-memorizing the tones.
(I think red and green are the most popular colors for tones for absolute majority of color schemes actually in use).
Can this change be implemented in one of the updates in the near future?
Of course, the old coloring may stay untouched, and the choice between old (red-green) and new (monochrome) correctness coloring scheme be added to the application settings.

We've added an option in 4.0 to customize the correct / incorrect answer colors; I don't believe we offer a way to specifically do black-on-white / white-on-black, as the foreground text color remains the same, but you could easily pick something like white correct / gray incorrect. (to be honest, the intent behind the feature was mostly to do a better job of supporting users with color perception issues, but it would work well for this too)

Any chance to add the option to alter the text color, too? (white correct / gray incorrect sounds good, but gray background may lead to a worse readability for the incorrect answers, which also need to be seen clearly).
Also, no hope for this feature in ver. 3.x already, right?

I don't know whether already included in 4.0 or not, but could we have a WORDS section for the flashcards? When going over characters, often the definition doesn't properly align with the words the characters are part of, making these characters nigh impossible to guess. Sometimes there is no definition at all because due to the character being a meaningless bound form.
Having the ability to have a flashcard such as this, for "振", would be really helpful. In the image below, I have "whitened out" the characters which would be hidden from the words section.
Then have there be a toggle for the WORDS section to only use words that are already part of your flashcard collection.

To be honest, I kind of think at that point we're better off making it easier to manually create definitions like this; it's going to tend to work better or worse depending on the character in question and you're probably not going to want it for every character. Without human curation, a lot of these could end up misleading or unhelpful, e.g. with rare meanings or with too many copies of the same meaning but missing another important one altogether unless you scroll way down the list.
We do have a 'populate links from search' feature that's too confusing at the moment and will probably be hidden in the next beta, but could be streamlined and brought back as a way to, essentially, embed the definitions of a bunch of other cards in the definition for a particular character. Most likely we'd do this in conjunction with rich text editing of definition fields (so you could see the linked cards you were editing rather than a confusing  link thing) so the end result is that you'd insert a bunch of these into cards and then be able to go in and manually delete / reorder them to get a set you found helpful.
We've also got some licenses in the works for official HSK materials that would let us hopefully do a better job of providing flashcard definitions specifically optimized around being flashcard definitions.

It'd be great if we could OCR the clipboard. I have pleco in windows (using bluestacks) , and sometimes there are Hanzis in the subtitles that I don´t know and want to search in Pleco
