Ah, probably just an entertaining iOS 11.2 bug then

I am consistently getting what sounds like an audio glitch on a particular character - 悶 in 發悶, as well as some other men3 and men1 characters. It only happens with two of the three purchased female voices, not all three and not the male voices.

On my iPhone X and iPad Pro 10.5 with iOS 11.2.

Splash screen. Looks like a visual tear in the middle of the character.

@mikelove No. It did happen to be at 90% today, then I changed it to 100% before the bug occurred. But adjusting to 50, 90, 100, 110, and 150 don’t fix it. Also killing the app and restarting the phone don’t fix it.

Small issue/no big deal, but it seems reproducible for me on two devices.

I don't believe so, but then again, I may not have been paying attention. Either it was the ios 11.2 update, or the 3.2.27 Pleco update, since I did them within a day of each other and wasn't otherwise paying attention.

It looks like it chopped out the middle to squeeze the image in.

Weird. I just checked another 6splus, also updated to the latest everything and it doesn't show the problem. So, must be something weird with my phone/installation.

You can safely ignore this then.

Not an iOS bug, per se, but a missing character.

It's just a blank space atm, but I'm assuming it's 2E581 (http://zisea.com/zscontent.asp?uni=2E581) in cjk ext. f - which HanaMin supports now.

@Bob P - thanks; at the very least we can certainly ask the vendor we licensed those TTS engines from to investigate.

I hate to harp on about this, but there is also the simplified character for 輶 - (2CA0E) which is in ext. e of cjk

gf uses: (1001E0) which displays - not very pretty tho
xhd uses: (103166) which doesn't display

shouldn't require any HanaMin updates

Yeah, we're aware of those but every time we update HDC it uses a TON of bandwidth so we're accumulating a few more bug fixes before we pull the trigger on that

Observe the incorrect screen element sizes on an iPhone 7.

Was resolved by closing and reopening Pleco, but looks like a bug nevertheless.

The 'bi' is a 造字 and search for those is currently a bit wonky. (there are like two dozen multi-character 造字 in our entire dictionary collection at the moment and we haven't optimized as well as we should for them yet)
