this is surely useful for beginners/lower intermediate learners who want to know which multi-syllable words are important to learn.

I'd say Pleco's Dictionary does something similar: it shows "Words Beginning" and "Words Containing" (the latter means, of course, "all words with a given character, no matter in what position it appears"). In contrast, my user dictionary shows "Words Beginning" and "Words not beginning". And, for example, in Pleco's "Words Containing" one finds both 行动 and 银行, which is understandable, but not very useful.Pleco's Dictionary does the same things
