this is surely useful for beginners/lower intermediate learners who want to know which multi-syllable words are important to learn. You also once recommended "The Chinese Lexicon" by Yip Po-Ching which is at a higher level, but is also very lexically oriented. Thanks again for that recommendation.

It also gives them at a glance an idea about where a certain character is more likely to appear: some characters tend to come up more frequently at the beginning than at the end (and viceversa), while some show a more balanced distribution. It also lets them browse the semantic field of a given character and its relation with the other character(s) that make up the words it combines with. Besides, the learners can see inmediately whether the characters they look up have more than one pronunciation.

Exactament. (Google Translate ) Pleco's Dictionary does the same things, but your dictionary limits itself to the most frequent words and pronunciations, so that's useful for beginning/lower intermediate learners.

I'd say Pleco's Dictionary does something similar: it shows "Words Beginning" and "Words Containing" (the latter means, of course, "all words with a given character, no matter in what position it appears"). In contrast, my user dictionary shows "Words Beginning" and "Words not beginning". And, for example, in Pleco's "Words Containing" one finds both 行动 and 银行, which is understandable, but not very useful.

It's also useful for me for practicing language production, though not necessarily for vocab in general. EDIT: It does contain some trickier words from HSK 6, so it‘s useful also for me.

If you check under Settings > Definition Screen, you can enable "Exclude beginning from containing" to get it. I prefer to have it turned off, though. On the second point, I'm not so sure. If you search for "行" and pick the xíng pronunciation, then tap on WORDS, you only get compound words whose pronunciation is "xíng". So thanks to Mike, all is the way it should be, I think. Nevertheless, your dictionary is still useful because it's all ready to learn and it uses HSK, of course.
