hello, some time has passed and microsoft doing a Great job now and Even Working on including Android Apps to wp! Any changes since?

you must have misunderstood the news. Even though the had to let go a lot of staff members, they continue to improve wp. Especially with focus on windows10. It will be just a several buttons for u to make a tunning wp app.

Sorry, but having both worked at Microsoft myself and being acquainted with a bunch of other ex-Microsofties I'm pretty confident in my reading of their announcement - the internal politics are complicated and they aren't quite ready to cut WP loose yet (too many bigwigs at Microsoft are still tied to Windows), but I don't think they're going to be investing a whole lot in WP or even in Windows in general going forward - they'll continue making money from legacy users (mostly big corporations) and using it to fund their move into new areas.
And sales of iOS devices last quarter exceeded those of Windows PCs, so the notion that Windows 10 cross-development will get more developers to support WP no longer applies - even if we combine desktop + mobile, Windows is #3 now.

Just to add: I have nothing against Microsoft, in fact I'm considering using some of their cloud services for some of Pleco's upcoming online efforts, but I think they lost the OS war 3 years ago and finally with Nadella they have a CEO who realizes that + is working to create a new Microsoft from the ashes of the old one.

This is very interesting. Nadella said in 2014: "At our core, Microsoft is the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. We will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more." So they still offer a platform, but they're also trying to become more platform-independent. Do you think they're trying to add AI, or just more intelligent cloud integration? AI can take many forms, but in my view, that's the only way they can really add new functionality.
I don't think it needs to rise to the level of AI - it's really just about apps; Facebook may own social and Google may own search/information but nobody (yet) owns work. And pretty much the only thing that could come close to replacing Windows / Office revenue would be enterprise cloud apps. They'll certainly seize other opportunities when they can - Minecraft was frankly a steal at $2.5B, I'm surprised there wasn't more of a bidding war for it - but the primary goal is to keep people using some variety of Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook and gain ground in other areas through superior integration with those.

I've been following this thread for some time now. And I'll say this l, Mike. I understand your decision for not adding on to Windows. I also agree that emulation is no where near the same experience as a native app. And the thought of a PC-Tablet-Phone Pleco on windows excites me, but you've got to put the numbers say you've got to put Android and iOS (I'm an apple hater) first, so there's nothing you can do about. So I'll be a good Windows Phone user and do what we do best, wait...wait ever so patiently. I should also take the moment to thank you for all the great things you've put in this app. My GF has a Samsung so I use her phone for pleco, and it's a miracle app for studies and travel!
It would be interesting to compare software sales on iOS vs (all) Windows at this stage.
I'm not suggesting the Windows software sales are bigger (I have no idea) I'm just legitimately curious.
