Pleco useful sentence cards

Hi, so I have been trying to figure out the sentence flashcards in pleco reader, it seems to create two seperate flashcards, but I don't understand how to use them. In general, I have my flashcards like this: Sentence on the front and the word i want to remember would be in bold, then definition, pinyin and the word on the back. Is there a way to achieve this in pleco? If I can't, how am I supposed to make use of this sentence flashcards feature? Is there any recommended ways of using it?

The main goal of that feature was actually not to use reader sentences in a flashcard test but rather to consult them easily from the dictionary screen; basically, 'make your own Hanyu Da Cidian.' If you look up a word that you've bookmarked in this way you should see a list of reader sentences - with citations - at the top of the Examples tab.

We do offer 'cloze' sentence flashcards, which draw from dictionary examples or examples that you've explicitly linked from the card, but we don't currently pull reader examples into those because they don't usually have definitions associated with them. Adding something like you describe might make sense, though.

I double-checked and actually 'cloze card but don't hide the word and show the original definition instead of the cloze one' is already an option in the new easier-to-configure custom test type screen for the next beta, so this should be available in that with a bit of tweaking. (will consider whether we should surface it even more prominently than that)

We did end up surfacing it more prominently but we still haven't released that beta - it's not quite where we're happy with anyway, but also, with rumors of a big iOS system UI revamp in iOS 19, we thought it best to wait until after the first beta of that is out so that some of the big surge of testing we expect to accompany the new beta will be on that.

Respectfully, I don't think "Randomly selected dictionary examples" is what us (sentence miners) want. I am looking forward to IOS 19 UI's now *cries*

Do you think we will get something close to sentence mining workflow on Pleco in the near future or should we go with other tools?

Sorry, to be clear, this new test type will work fine with sentences bookmarked from the reader, since it doesn't require them to have a definition field. So that's fixed too.

Also, if you turn on the option for example flash buttons in Settings / Definition Screen and then go to a card's dictionary definition screen in Card Info, you'll see a link button next to examples in that screen; you can tap on one of those to bookmark that sentence and then those examples and any reader examples will be prioritized for sentence tests.
