Japanese readings of characters

Hi Pleco Folks,

Can anybody point me to a method for having Pleco display the Japanese reading of a Chinese character (where there is one)? To be clear, I'm not looking for a "Japanese version of Pleco"--I know that there have been a number of posts on this already. Rather, I am hoping that I can find a way for Pleco to display the Japanese reading of a character that is used in both Chinese and Japanese.

I use Pleco on my iPhone and iPad, and I see that there is a "RSJapanese" field under the "UNI" section for characters--but it never has a value. Does anybody know if this is something that might work?

Thanks in advance -

John

Mikelove, thanks so much! Of course, if I had been smart enough to poke around in those settings a little more I might have found that myself. Sorry for the boneheaded question, but thanks again.

Hey,

Sorry to resurrect the old thread, but I would also like to be able to view kun/on readings in Pleco. I'm running it on Android and I couldn't find the UNI section for charecters that the OP is talking about. Could you please explain to me how to enable japanesekun and japaneseon?

Cheers

UNI should show up at the bottom of the "DICT" tab in the definition screen for any single character. If it's not there, your Pleco installation may have been corrupted - back up your flashcards, delete Pleco and reinstall.
