Is 'instant search' a possibility on the Android platform? You know how the Palm had the great feature where the user could highlight some text and press one key and the definition would show up? Man I used that all the time.

How about the iPhone, does it have it? Maybe another reason to switch over to the iPhone someday.

Kind of; we've got an experimental version of it that basically works by running in the background and popping up Pleco whenever the text in the system clipboard changes. You can turn it on in Settings / General / Startup / Clipboard Monitor; then, in another app just select a piece of Chinese text and copy it and see what happens. We've had zero feedback on this so far so we'd be really interested to know if it works well for you.

Nope, and given the tight restrictions / lockdowns of iPhone apps it's unlikely it will ever work on that. Though it's not really very many button taps to copy a piece of text to the clipboard and then open up Pleco (having turned on the Pleco option to search for the text in the clipboard on startup).
