Hello

In my Nexus7 I've a 100pages "PDF"-file, which contains chinese characters.
The PDF-file is not editable. Actually the file is an image-file.
How can I use Pleco to read Hanzi of that image PDF-file .. without converting it?
Thru the "Still OCR" .. but how?
Thank you.

BTW
I'm confused!
In https://www.pleco.com/ipmanual & in http://android.pleco.com/manual there are
Pleco Instruction Manuals ... but they're not the same.
What should I do?

We don't support PDF in our Android OCR at the moment, basically because Android doesn't include a built-in PDF decoding library while iOS does. (good PDF decoding libraries are prohibitively expensive to license, or else we would have already done so - the open-source or cheaply-licensable ones don't seem to handle Chinese characters well)

Google has actually added PDF decoding support in Android 5, so once that gets up to a decent level of market share we'll happily support it (assuming we don't encounter any massive problems / bugs in their implementation), but in the meantime about all I can suggest is that you run your PDF through a utility to convert it to JPEGs and then OCR those.
