Feedback from users: Which custom fonts work for you?

Hi all! I've looked up the issue of installing custom fonts for Pleco (Android) on this forum, and am aware of the potential issues (crashing, rendering etc). My question is, has anyone recently installed a custom font on Pleco that works at all? I've tried a number of fonts from Google, Github etc but none even work to begin with. I've recently migrated from Pleco iOS to Android, and am missing the rather nice FZNewKai. Suggestions are much appreciated!

It’s been a while so I’m not sure if it still possible, but if you like FZNewKai, the company’s website probably still lets you create a free account to download the complete fonts for indefinite personal use as a trial.

I can’t offer any technical advice beyond the fact that some fonts result in very large line spacing, and if you want to reduce it, you will need to modify the font files (both the metadata and sometimes also remove unneeded glyphs that protrude outside the normal “character box”) with something like FontForge.
