Fake iPhones (buying in China) - Pleco/iTunes-friendly?

Anyone try installing Pleco on a fake iPhone? I'm not sure I really want to spend the ¥4,900 on a real iPhone 4 or whatever a 3GS currently goes for. From what I understand, there are even names for the most common fakes, some of which use genuine parts: HiPhone, MiPhone, CiPhone, SciPhone, CT1, i68, i9, i93, KA08, KA09, KT1, SC18, CECT. I got that info from http://www.usediphones.net/How-To-Tell- ... -Fake.html

Anyway, I'm thinking of having a sales agent here in China try install the downloaded Pleco installer from a USB for me before I buy it. I understand it requires iOS 3 or later. Any experience regarding fakes would be helpful?

PS: I've also posted a query about fake iPhone experiences on Daves ESL Cafe's China forum but you need to register for access: http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic ... 12&start=0

It's unlikely that you can get Pleco on one of these devices because they don't run iOS. Some of them might come with custom Android builds but the hardware is usually too poor to run anything smoothly.

I don't generally encourage purchases of these types of devices because their performance can oftentimes be ridiculous to the point it is unusable. I'd say go for something genuine, even if it's going to be a cheap, mid to low range feature phone. It's up to you though.
