Cant delete text once typed in clip reader

I am having trouble creating a new file for clip reader. I have tried clearing history. Help would be appreciated

If you long-press an individual item in clipboard history do you see an option to delete it?

(also, you've now copied something else to the clipboard, right? otherwise it'll keep reappearing because it's the current clipboard contents)
