Better support for adding sentences to flashcards

Hey!

Firstly, I wanted to say that I've been using the beta for a while now, and I'm very happy overall. There is one thing though which I really would like to have, at least I haven't found a very easy way of achieving this.

Basically, I really like to use the reader feature of Pleco (both, the clipboard one and the web reader), especially because of the very convenient feature of being able to look up words when you click on them. However, when creating new flashcards, I really want the sentence where I encountered the word to be stored alongside of the word (as a note), so I can remember the context where I encountered it. I might remember wrong, but I feel like in the legacy Pleco version there was a way of marking a whole sentence and copying it to the clipboard (which is still somewhat annoying because I need to do it manually), but in the beta version, the copy button seems to be gone. For the web browser, it seems to be even worse, because it looks like I can't even select a whole sentence at once by manually adjusting the text range with the arrows, which makes it even more difficult. :(

Is there something that could make it easier for me to achieve that, and if not is anything in that direction planned? It would be a huge "quality-of-life" improvement for me! :)

Thanks!

Thanks!

This is already supported - set 'sentence cards' in Settings / Reader to either 'button' (which will let you create a linked card from the current sentence by tapping on a separate button) or 'automatic' (which will do it when you create a card, or tap on the [+] button to update it).

We create these as flashcards rather than just appending the text to the card as a note because that way they can also show up in the dictionary 'examples' tab (even for other words) and be potentially available for stuff like cloze testing.

I'm really interested in using the Flashcards capability of Pleco. I've upgraded to the Basic to give me more capability. I've uploaded the 2999 character set from the Ministry of Education--but I'd really like the flashcards to have a sample sentence or 2.

1) Not sure if there's a way to automatically grab them from the dictionary? Or to paste in examples as I test myself? (Not even sure how I'd do that).
2) I found this thread and tried to find the 'sentence cards' in Settings / Reader but can't seem to find that? Am I looking in the wrong place?

Sorry, this is specifically about our new 4.0 beta.

In 3.0, you can see whatever sentences are on your linked dictionary entry by setting 'definition sections' in New Test / Display to something that includes examples.
