mfcb / ben_gb - we managed to trim back the memory consumption in a few areas in the newly-released Beta 3, so along with the updated / more locked-down SQLite database system there's a good chance things might improve stability-wise in that release.
If they don't, another possibility is that this might be a filesystem rather than a memory issue - too many files open at once (can easily have several dozen with Pleco, almost all of which might be relying on a potentially-unstable flash memory card driver) preventing Albums from opening up / creating previews of image files correctly, though a memory shortage certainly seems like the most likely culprit.
