Hello everyone,
I use the ABC dictionary for my flashcards and there are a lot of pinyin links to words.
Something like 梏 for example :
"wooden handcuffs in zhìgù"
And when I click on the highlighted zhìgù nothing happens, now it works if i click on view in dictionary and then do it but I wanted to know if it is possible to be redirected to the word directly from the flashcard ?
Thanks !

Hi kaine42,

could it be that you were in this mode?

If I switch to this mode using the 字 button at the upper right, I can tap the link:

Edit: I tried it on Android and found that the link doesn't work there. So I'll pass.

Hope this helps,

Shun

Thank you, I didn't know you could do it on IOS, so I guess it's a ios only feature then.
It would be cool to have such a feature for android too though.

Yeah, just something we haven't gotten around to wiring up but I'll re-up it on our to-do list - thanks.

Hello, I don't know if there is any update on this ? I'm currently learning hanzi individually with the outlier dictionnary through flashcards, and there are a lot of links in it. That redirect to each character components and their system level info.
I'm doing a few hundred per day if we count reviews and new ones and it can become a little bit tiring to also view them in the dictionary every time. Although with the beta 4.0 I don't know if you have the time. And once again thanks for this amazing app, although this is just a mild inconvenience for me but I wanted to ask again just in case. Have a great day.

I thought this was addressed a few updates ago but will make a note to look at it again the next time we do a bug fix update.

Hello,
I just downloaded the 3.2.98 update and now I can click on each flashcard elements that can open a pop up and the pop up will then open itself and display normally. Which was not possible before.

Like "v" displaying verb or "n" noun for example, or the system component level info when clicking on for the oulier dictionnary.
Or any other elements that can open a pop up like the "original meaning" explanation, or the "sound, empty, meaning or form component" explanations for outlier.

Although it's still not possible to click on an exemple word like in ABC or oxford or a component like in outlier and be redirected to the dictionarry entry.
It will still do nothing when clicking on anything that would require a redirect and not only a pop up.

Still, I'm truly thanksful, since it's now better than before.
I have attached a few photo describing the problem that was resolved with the 3.2.98 update. There is only the components or words that redirect to their dictionary entries that still don't work for now.

Thanks you and have a great day.

Hello,
It works now !!!
I just downloaded the new beta that just released and everything was fixed, now even the links that redirect to their dictionary entries will also do it without problems.
I truly thank you, it will make the flashcard grind way easier from now on.
It's rare to see a dev team that listens to their community like the pleco one do.

Have a great day !

Edit: the fix is great as it is, truly, although I just found out some minor bugs that I would like to share.
The free default pleco dictionary links redirect to a blank page with no dictionaries displayed.
The outlier component links and some others like the histoire ricci links correctly redirect to their dictionary entries and work fine.
But for the others, like for ABC, Oxford and tuttle, the links don't specifically redirect to their dictionary entry being displayed first, but rather to the order that the user inputted into the manage dictionary setting ( Although I don't know why but I have the grand ricci dictionary in 4 place and it will always display it as the first one when being redirected from ABC, Oxford and tuttle links).

Also, it seems like ABC pinyin entries link to the first found searched entry rather than their dictionary entries.

Like for 尚 for example, in ABC, the link to shàngwǔ will redirect to the 上午 entry instead of 尚武. Might be because if I search for shangwu in the dictionary tab, the first result would be 上午, don't know if it is the reason why.
I also added some screenshots.
