Writing practice

I first want to say that I love this software! Thank you guys for making it available. My question is however, is there some sort of writing practice component to pleco?

Not at the moment - we do have a stroke order flashcard test but all it does is ask for you to tap on the strokes in the correct order.

You can get writing practice by using the "Fill in the Blanks" test session, and then setting up the "Test Settings" to prompt for "Characters". See this thread reply:

Settings, Flashcards, Review Flashcards


Manage Profiles to create a new "Writing" profile (or whatever you want to call it)


Profile -- select the profile you've created. You need to select it before you change the other settings. They are automatically "saved" with this profile (I think!)

Test Type - Select "Fill-in-the-blanks" After you select the test type, then some of the other setting options become available


Prompt For "Characters"

Show: Your choice. I either pick "definition" or "pinyin" or a combo

Card Categories: Pick which categories of flashcards you want to practice with.
