What (if any) formatting can be done in the definition section of custom cards?

I've started converting a lot of cards into custom cards because I dont like how verbose the dictionary based cards appear during review. For example, this is how a multiple choice question looks for me now:

Before the whole definition wouldn't even fit on the line and it was difficult to parse. I like my current system best but I would still like to be able to include the VERB, NOUN, etc headers in the definition on words whose various definitions span multiple parts of speech. Is this possible?

There's not really a good way to get that specific custom formatting in definitions, no.
