Unwanted user dictionary

Hello,

I have installed some extra sets of flashcards and the free CEDICT dictionary on my Palm. No problem with this. But then I noticed that somehow on of my earlier lists of flashcards (I called this IC10) shows up as a USR dictionary. So now it cycles USR-OX-CED. How kan I remove this. I have tried to find the file using FILEZ but the list is so long and I am afraid to delete something else by accident.

You shouldn't remove your custom dictionary. If you do, you will have a lot of problems with your flashcards if your flashcards were not created using PlecoDict but were imported using the import feature.

Ok, I think I understand what happened. I imported all these flashcards and they probably contained hanzi, pinyin and english. As I understand it flashcards are pointers to dictionary entries, so unless you just import a list of hanzi (I have done this with a list of the 500 most common characters) the program creates its own set of entries in a USR dictionary to be able to create the pointers. Is this how it works?

Yes, that's it exactly; if you delete your custom dictionary you'll end up with a bunch of "INVALID" flashcards. If you don't mind that (you can always go in and delete those INVALIDs), you can use a file manager utility like FileZ to go into your Palm's memory and delete the "PlecoDict User DB C-E" database file - that would get rid of all of your current custom dictionary entries and prevent "USR" from coming up in dictionary searches unless/until you created new ones.
