The Chinese Pear Stories

I recently came across The Chinese Pear Stories, a set of audio taped stories that are the first set of scientifically matched natural conversation samples for all seven main Chinese dialects (Mandarin 北, Cantonese 粵, Hakka 客, Wu 吳, Min 閩, Xiang 湘 and Gan 贛).
Background, transcripts, dozens of short recordings in each dialect and more under http://www.pearstories.org/, quite worth checking, useful to develop oral understanding.

Kudos!

That site is awesome!~ Thanks for taking the time to post it here. That's some amazing stuff and answers a lot of questions I had about the differences between dialects.

That site is fantastic, thanks for posting!

I'm starting to learn the Changsha dialect now, the recordings and transcriptions there are very helpful! (for talking about pears at any rate  )
