Switching devices?

Hi there,
I just picked up an entry level Palm (Z22) for the sole purpose of putting PlecoDict on it. I am a little strapped for cash, so this is just temporary until I can get a nicer palm. I want to know if it's possible to transfer the software over to my new Palm once I purchase it. Also, I need this for some technical translation work, so I am assuming I should get the $119.95 software package, but I was curious to see if anyone has any experience using it for technical translation. Thanks to anyone who can help!!

You can certainly move the software over to a new Palm as long as it still runs Palm OS; just set the new Palm up with the same "HotSync Username" as your old Z22 and your same keyfile etc will still work to install and unlock it on that new Palm.

As far as the Complete package, though, unfortunately due to the Z22's limited memory (and lack of a memory expansion slot) the only version of our software that can reliably be installed on it is the $59.95 Basic bundle; however, there should be enough storage left over after that to install the free add-on Adso and LDC databases (http://www.pleco.com/dictaddons.html), which though not as good as the ABC dictionary in the Complete version do have a lot of technical/scientific vocabulary that's missing in the Basic bundle.

I bought a treo 650 and the $99 Plecodict pkg. After downloading, everything worked OK but I should have put the ABC dict. on my card so I deleted Plecodict from my Palm and redownloaded everything but put the ABC dict onto the sd card. Now I can't find Plecodict in my Palm menu. Where is it?
I did put thePlecoDict HWR Library.prc and PlecoDict HWR Database.pdb: in the handheld but put everything else on the sd card.
Thanks
David

Put PlecoDict.prc on the handheld too and that should get the icon to appear. Alternatively, you can run it off the card (a bit slower) if you tap on the little menu in the top right corner of the screen and choose the bottom option (probably "Card" or "Card1", with a little icon next to it).
