Resume Failed: Could not resume your previous flashcard session

While conducting a flashcard test I put my iPad 3 to sleep using the sleep button. A few minutes later I woke the iPad and Pleco immediately generated this message:

Resume Failed: Could not resume your previous flashcard session.

This isn't a big deal, but I until now I had never received this error before. I was just wondering what might have caused it.

I can answer my own question. I just noticed that Pleco auto-updated to v3.1.4. I realized this because, when I re-started my flashcard session, I noticed the "@" symbol in the lower right corner of the flashcard screen (allows you to view dictionary definitions; this is a bug fix) which wasn't present in my previous flashcard session (the one that I couldn't resume). The error is was (presumably) caused by a random fluke when the app upgraded.

Yes, that was caused by a change in the flashcard session data format - we try not to do those too often but we had to fix a bug in this case.
