is there a list(s) already in pleco, or lists that can be downloaded, or do we have to create our own lists in order to run the flashcards? ive installed the dictionaries onto my palm, and see the flashcard section, but cant figure out how to use it. also, is there a users manual to explain this on the palm at this point, or do i have to get that on the pleco website (i am having trouble reading things and using adobe, etc b/c the computer i use has a chinese os).

I don't believe that PlecoDict comes with any default flashcards (Mike will correct me if I'm wrong). You can download some sample flashcards from http://www.pleco.com/dictaddons.html

Even though these add-ons are not supported I've never had an issue with anything on this webpage so you shouldn't worry about using them.

I've downloaded all the flashcards from this page but have yet to use all of them since I am currently creating my own flashcards based on my Chinese textbook (Integrated Chinese).

lmcjipo is correct - there aren't any flashcards built-in, but there are several lists available from that add-ons page. (and actually we'll be posting two new lists there very soon) The page includes instructions for how to install the flashcard lists, but if any of that's unclear feel free to send us an e-mail or post a question here.

Mike,

Like Tuvia in a previous posting, I am also having some problems trying to load the flashcards to my PALM E2. I read the directions on the PLECO website and I am able to successfuly HOTSYNC the files to my PALM. After that, I am not quite sure how to find the "Manage Lists" screen by choosing "Manage Lists" from the "Flashcards" menu.

Without boring you any further, would you please send me more detailed instructions please. Or, is there a problem with my PLECO DICT functions?

are the flashcards simplified or traditional characters?

i am not recognizing some which, though i am a beginner, i thought that i knew.

raymond-

certainly i am not the best one to give assistance, but to get to the manage lists screen i think you;

tap on the pleco icon
tap on the menu(?) icon bottom left of the touchscreen
tap on flashcards at the top of the screen
and u should see manage flashcards at the top/tap that and you're at manage lists.

Yep, that will do it. The menu button on your E2 would be at the bottom left corner of the silkscreened area at the bottom of the screen, just below the button with a picture of a house on it and to the left of the little 'ABC'. Tap on that and that will bring up the menu bar.

This is actually one of the most common support questions we get - in most respects the Palm OS user interface is extremely well-designed, but the menu bar system really ought to be more intuitive. (a rare example of Pocket PC actually being more user-friendly than Palm)
