pleco on a ipod

iPods really don't have enough input methods to make that feasible - we're not even confident we could deliver a good user experience on the BlackBerry, and those at least have keyboards even if they don't have touchscreens. With just an iPod click wheel the interface / features would have to be so heavily cut down that it wouldn't even resemble PlecoDict anymore.
Anyway, if we wanted to support a consumer-friendly, non-PDA platform like that we'd probably pick the Nintendo DS instead of the iPod - thanks to its integrated touchscreen it would make a very good platform for PlecoDict, and as an extra bonus it would offer an excuse for thousands of students to get in a Tetris game or two during the more dull stretches of Chinese class.
