Hi all,
Recently I've got Nokia N900 with firmware PR 1.2 (This is NOT Symbian OS phone, but Meamo 5 - linux based platform). I used Garnet VM v.1.05 Beta 'free' soft from Access company to run Palm software on linux platfoms (Just for the record I'm not in any way connected with that company).
You need registration on Access site to get download link. In installation there was nothing special just routine down/install with default package manager.
Excuse me if I wrote something wrong - I'm not native English speaking...
I have a couple of screenshots that could say more than I can write
See the post number three
During the test I did not find any problems and bugs with Pleco running on that VM, actually everithing seems to work fine, but also that need to be tested more for final conclusion. I did not like only one thing ( running Pleco in fullscreem portret mode) and that was scalling of the small charachters in descriprion of the words - which looked a bit uglly and hardly readable ( These problem was not there when running in not fullscreen portret and fullscreen landscape mode but then all things looked not big enought for easy reading in my opinion).
Speed of starting Pleco in the tree different screen modes was different, the quickest was fullscreen portret mode, then not fullscreen portret and slowest was fullscreen landscape mode. But onece started application runs smooth and quick not slower than in my PalmOne Tungsten T5.
Also I did not notice a big slow down in running other application beside Pleco, that means possible scenario of leaveing in background Pleco running and switching back when we need it ( again these needs further testing to be confirmed).
So if Access increase storage heap and make better scalling of the tiny fonts - Pleco 2.0.4 will be completelly usable on Maemo 5 and Nokia N900.
MVE
P.S. If I have further notice I'll post it here, also keep in your mind that that test is made with DEMO version of pleco so it could be different in full one ( I'm considering moving may license to Garnet VM but first I neet to see that access are willing to help with the problem with heap storage allocation - to be increased, or even buy a new license for that device)

After the installation I chose screen mode for pleco to be full portret, and even in fullscreen mode there is a black bar about 1,5cm down because of scalling resolution of Palm T5 to N900, which is not a problem for me. The device that I was choose was Palm T5 (you can choose all kind from E to TX series) the audio looks like it's working, because I was able to hear audio from the system sounds, but it needs to be tested with audio from Pleco before final conclusion. The installation was a bit painfull because I needed to click end point every file from pleco package one by one it took me about 15-20min to install Pleco+fonts+HW recognition+Oxford ChEn/EnCh+ tutle+char info. I was not able to install these: audio male and female + other dictionaries because the maximum space that Garnet VM alow me to allocate for application storage was only 64MB ( I planning to contact Access and to ask them how to increase that place to let's say 512MB?) Then I'll be able to install all dictionaries and audio and test them all.
