One-handedness on a WM5 pocket pc is bad :(

Hi,

I'm sure I speak for alot of people when I say that I never thought PDAs were useful until I got the Treo 650 and had the static keyboard. The way the 5-way nav works is wonderful. I never need the stylus for entering pinyin or english words with plecodict....

But now it's clearly a WM5 world for me...and the one-handedness is poor.

Simply put, can you have a menu button so that I can hit "menu" + a letter so that I can access those shortcuts without tapping the screen so much?

Thanks!

Good suggestion. 1-handed input even in the Palm version is less than what it could be, and on Pocket PC it's almost nonexistent. To be honest, it's a lot more complicated to get button assignments working correctly on Pocket PC than on Palm (it's hard enough on Palm, most of the remaining bugs in the flashcard system relate to the lengths we had to go to to correctly capture button presses) which is why we didn't do too well with this in 1.0.

But yes, batoje's suggestion should provide an excellent workaround.

Mike,

Thanks for hopefully one day considering this. Using the keyboard is truly what makes PDAs useful. Once you experience it, you can't go back.

Could someone tell me exactly how to use AEB plus? I want to hit MENU + M to magnify the text. Or MENU + S to switch languages...

You can do this on the palm; but how do you do this on the pocket pc, even with AEB Plus?
