Multiple results

Hi!

Am I the only one experiencing multiple occurances of the same word in the result list when using wildcard searching?! :D
For example when searching for "@suo" I see the word 罗嗦 listed 4 times.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I didn't find anything when searching.

Yes, this is unfortunately something we weren't able to avoid without sacrificing a lot of performance. However, if you enable the "sort/cleanup multi-char results" option in Preferences, that will get rid of the duplicates (though in the process it will also slow down searching a bit).

Ahh, I see. I guess I really should read the manual more thoroughly. As a matter of fact I'm gonna do that now. :)

I'll enable this for a while and see if the added delay bothers me. As it is now, Pleco already runs very fast so I doubt it'd annoy me. :)

Thanks!

UPDATE: Actually, the setting doesn't seem to change anything. Is there something special I have to do to enable it (except for checking the box)? I tried restarting Pleco, enabling some of the other options like search button, strict pinyin match, etc., but it still doesn't seem to have any effect.

No, just enabling it should be all you have to do. But I hadn't read your posting closely enough - it doesn't work on searches that contain a single (non-wildcard) character, due to memory limitations on Palm OS. (we're still looking for a way around these for 2.0)
