Lime

So, I tried to tell my wife to put a lime in my Corona, and realized I have no idea how to say "lime" in Chinese. The only translation I can find is 石灰: sh? huī. Since this seems to directly translate to "rock ash", I'm thinking it only refers to that of limestone.

I asked a few friends in Taiwan, and they have no idea what a lime is. I described it as "like a lemon - but green". I had forgotten that lemons in Taiwan ARE green - so this got me nowhere.

Any help? Thanks!

酸橙树,酸橙 from Oxford in Plecodict, third definition. I have always wanted to know this too but the earlier versions of Oxford didn't have it so I am glad you asked and got me to look again. Thanks.

You could also mention Sprite (雪碧) - even if she doesn't know the word for it she might know the flavor from the drink. I can't say I've ever actually seen limes at a Chinese supermarket, but given the popularity of lime juice in Thai and other Southeast Asian cooking I'm sure they're available somewhere.
