I started studying using a Legacy flashcards session with a category of 8,000 cards selected, with Max number of cards set to "All". What happened was that the total cards indicator didn't show the 8,000 number, but instead incremented by 1 after each test question. Also, the same cards were repeated and graded as correct as often as I liked. Repeating the test with the same settings right afterwards, the correct 8,000 card limit was shown, and testing worked (except for the correct-on-empty problem). I showed the pronunciation and definition and prompted for characters. I attach a video.
