Legacy Flashcards: Answer is always correct

In a Fill-in-the-blanks Legacy flashcard test session, my answers are recognized as correct if I leave the answer field empty. Only if I enter an incorrect answer will Pleco mark it as incorrect. See the attached video.

One notable setting I had active was "Repeat incorrect cards during session". I tried turning it off, but that didn't alter the result.

Yes, these cards are Simplified-only.
