Invalid registration ID

So I bought a new phone, and I want to transfer the registration ID from my old phone to my new phone (my friend share the ID)
but when I enter the registration ID, an error keeps popping up saying "invalid registration ID", even when I just copy-paste the ID it from my old phone to the new one
is there any way to solve this problem?

If you contact support with the ID we can investigate - 'sharing with friends' isn't something we actually support, people do it with a couple of friends and it maybe flies under the radar but then inevitably those people share it with other friends and other friends and eventually we flag it as stolen and deactivate it.
