How to pronounce "Pleco"

I have an extremely important question: is there an officially correct pronunciation of "Pleco"?

Most people I know seem to go with "PLEE-koh" with a small minority opting for "PLAY-Koh". But it seems the correct pronunciation of the fish might be "PLEH-koh".

The official word on that per our website's company page is that it's "PLEE-koh," but since it's originally Latin ("plecostomus" -> "folded mouth," the type of catfish that graces our logo) I think it technically should be "PLEH-koh." "PLEE" is the official pronunciation because I've been saying it that way since I had one as a pet when I was 11.
