How big can a flashcard list get?

I have been going through William McNaughton's "Reading & Writing Chinese". As I learn characters, I have been adding them to a flashcard list. My question is, at what point, if ever, should I be splitting that into multiple lists? By the time I'm done with the book (not any time soon!) that list will have about 3000 characters -- and that's not even mentioning all the multi-character words. Will PlecoDict handle a list of that size without breaking a sweat? What if many of the characters have custom dictionary entries?

BTW, I've been adding all the characters as I go, even ones I already know, with the aim of uploading the flashcard file here when I'm done. I imagine I'm not the only one who's using that book as a learning tool.

The flashcard system should be able to handle that many characters without problems - we already do so with the largest HSK lists. The custom dictionary I'm not so sure about - it certainly should, but I'd recommend making regular export backups at least.
