Have I made a mistake in PDA choice?

Hello all,

I am wondering if I have made a mistake in my choice of PDA. (My primary goal in getting it was just to run *PD*.)
A Tungsten E2 works just fine for the current version of *PD*. However, it only has ~30 MB onboard memory and can only take a 1 GB expansion card.
With all the new features projected for version 2.0, will a TE2 still be up to the task, especially the onboard memory? Should I have gone for a TX or even higher, with an eye towards future expansion?

cheers,

Gabe

An E2 should be fine. While I would have probably recommended a TX simply for all the extra features, there's nothing wrong with the E2. Provided that it has a new enough OS (5.X), and I believe it does, then you should be fine.

The only thing you will encounter is that as it can only have a 1GB SD card you won't be able to do much except PlecoDict once 2.0 has arrived. While this probably doesn't matter much to you, it is something that you should keep in mind.

Basically, it will run 2.0. Everything can be put on an external card, bar PlecoDict itself, and the handwriting recognition stuff. For comparison, you could probably get away with a 512GB card, but a 1GB card probably a much better idea as then you're not really at risk of running out of space.

Yeah, the E2 should be quite capable of running 2.0. And its data files will have no trouble fitting on a 1 GB card - they'd almost fit on a 512 MB card, in fact, so you should still have plenty of space left for other things if you get a 1 GB one.

Oh, I got a 1GB card right off the bat--only because I discovered that the E2 won't recognize a 2 GB card!
