Frequency adjusted flashcards - strange behavior

I have the following custom setup for rank testing settings:
1 freq 100, 0 days; 2 freq 66, 1 days; 3 freq 44, 2 days; 4 freq 29, 6 days; 5 freq 19, 9 days; 6 freq 12, 13 days.

Sometimes (do not know exactly when), Plecodict insists on just showing me 2 or 3 cards, sometimes only 1 card, again and again. Even when it does not do so, it would seem that the cards with higher ranks come back extremely frequently, and usually the same ones.

Having the program present me with just a few flashcards, or just one, does not help. The only way to eliminate this is to not use the freq adjustment.

What causes this and what can I do about it?

Thx,

Piet Stevens (a very satisfied user)[/list]

Hmm... I don't know what could be causing this. Are you sure that there are other (lower-ranked) cards available when you're doing these sessions? Could you give me a rough estimate of how many cards you have, and how many are at the lower/higher ranks? We can do some testing and try to reproduce the problem, but this is the first I've heard of it so I don't have an immediate answer for you.

Flashcard setup

I get this behavior when I test with 2 flashcard lists activated. One has 1128 cards, the other has 295 words. I do not know how to get a good overview of how many cards are at what rank (I once asked you whether it was possible to export these statistics to excel).

When I limit ranks to rank 1, and ask for a fixed # of cards of 200, then it selects 196 cards. When I limit ranks to rank 2, then it selects 100 cards. For rank 3, it is 145 cards. For rank 4, 40. Rank 5, 200 (so there should be more than 200). Rank 6, 59. I have only 6 ranks. Rank 5 should therefore have 883 cards across the 2 lists.

Best regards, Piet.
