exporting flashcards

I'm having difficulties exporting flashcards - I've tried all three export types. I can find the files for PalmDoc and text files, but the hanzi have been lost. Ive tried GB2312 and UTF8 coding. Documents to Go (v 6) appears not to have any Chinese fonts, which is perhaps why it cannot reproduce the hanzi. I've tried loading the exported files into other programs on my pc - but still no Hanzi. I'm using PlecoDict 1.03, and WinXP Prof.

The best bet would be to export the flashcards as UTF8 text files and open them up in Microsoft Word - assuming you have Chinese fonts on your computer, it should have no trouble displaying the flashcards. If your computer doesn't currently have Chinese fonts on it, go to Start \ Settings \ Control Panel \ Regional and Language options, Languages tab, and check the box for "Install files for East Asian languages" - press OK and the fonts should automatically install.

I've cracked it finally - at least for simplified characters (I haven't tried with the traditional ones). At least - this works for a Palm T3, using PlecoDict's latest version, and Word-to-Go 6, and Word 2003 under WinXP Prof):

In PlecoDict
- export flashcards (1) as PalmDoc (2) choose the Flashcard file name to export - e.g. Default (3) choose Encoding: GB2312
- open Word-To-Go; search for supported files; check the flashcard file for synchronization (if this is not automatic)
- synchronize

On the pc
- open the file in Word
- save as .txt file. This will bring up the File Conversion list box, with Windows Default selected - change nothing at this point.
- close the file
- open the file. This will bring up the File Conversion list box (Word thinks it's Japanese). Scroll to Chinese GB2312 and select that.
- save - as Word (.doc) file
