Creating dictionaries

Has anyone had any luck creating dictionaries? I just tried the non-supported dictionary program from pleco's website, but whenI tried creating an english-to-chinese dictionary it bombed. I tried creating a very small, simple version of the dictionary with only a few words and respecting the tab formatting requirements, but no luck.

It's not exactly the most user-friendly program, no... The biggest sources of problems for people are generally text encodings; make sure the file is in little-endian UTF-16. Microsoft Word saves in this format when you choose simply "Unicode" as the text encoding, and most other international-friendly text editors work with it as well.
