Copy/Paste WM6 (again) - no characters or 3rd tone marks

I looked through the other threads and I think my issue is just slightly different...

I'm trying to copy from Pleco and paste into notes or a 3rd party flashcard program on WM6.0 Classic. Does Pleco put stuff into clipboard as unicode? When I paste into other applications from Pleco, I lose the Chinese characters and any pinyin with the 3rd tone mark over it (I get other tones ok).

I thought it might be a font issue, so I searched for all the fonts in Pleco and found simsum (is this the ZYSong font?) and copied that to the window/fonts folder, but I stil have the problem with being unable to display Chinese characters (and 3rd tone marks) from Pleco.

TIA for any assistance!

Pleco does put the clipboard in Unicode (I don't know if it's even possible to have a non-Unicode clipboard on WM), but this other flashcard program might not be configured to display Chinese characters - check to see if there's an option to change which font it uses, if not, search the forums (or Google) for information on "font linking" which is a way you can enable Chinese support in non-Chinese-optimized programs.

Thanks Mike! :D

I figured out "font linking" without bricking my iPAQ. The problem is not with Pleco, but is with the lack of native east Asian language support for WM6. Word and my flashcard program are now happy with copy&paste from Pleco. Phatnotes is still not happy - but I think that's because it uses some kind of proprietary file format.

Step-by-step instructions for "font linking" (for WM5, but works on WM6)
