Communication with ChinesePod. com

Hi Mike

I don't work for chinesepod.com just a paid sunscriber. Later this month my PDA will arrive from America and I will immediately order Pleco for it. Here is my request, it seems chinesepod is gaining a following, it seems their tech guys are doing a pretty good job of building a vocab base with sound. Wouldn't it be great when 2.0 from Pleco or whatever comes out there is a seemless way to export their ( or as it is each individual has his own) into a data base usable by your product ?

Mike--it might be great, but, on the other hand, painstakingly re-entering the Chinesepod vocab helps me learn it. Also, Mike (Love) is working on so many high-intensity new features and codes for PD 2x, I don't want to delay him any.

Just realized that I need to go up onto the Chinesepod comments and ask them to implement a bbs system like this--Wading through comments to see if anything is new is a nuisance.

mikehs - it would actually be almost seamless to do this now; go to Vocab Builder on their website, choose Export WordBank, copy the exported text into a text editor, use a search-and-replace to convert the commas into tabs and remove the quotation marks, then import the resulting text file into PlecoDict. And once we release our document reader feature it should be possible to put transcripts into that as well - combine it with a Palm MP3 player and you can have pretty much the complete ChinesePod experience integrated into PlecoDict. So sfrrr needn't worry, we don't need to do a lot of extra work to get our software to play nicely with ChinesePod.com.
