the only reason for me still using wenlin are the neat descriptions saying some things about the character's etymology, it sometimes mentions karlgren and others.
mike, in your announcement email you were talking about licensing an etymology dictionary.
is wenlin's additional character information part of the abc dictionary? any chance of licensing this?

Do you know about richard sears' website: chineseetymology.org? There is an ipod/iphone app for it, although said app needs work.

It's not, sadly, and they appear uninterested in licensing it.

He's not interested either - ditto for zhongwen.com; we're making inquiries on a few Chinese-Chinese ones, and also have leads on two new in-development C-E ones that we might hopefully be able to do something with, but it seems like everybody with an existing electronic etymology product is keeping it closely-guarded.
