CE Star and Pleco problem

I have a slight problem with my Qtek9100.

I have installed CE STar and Pleco together. A problem seems to arise when I switch to the character recognition software in CE Star and I start writing characters on my screen. If I then want to use pleco it doesn't actually open up. This only happens after I have switched to the handwriting element of CE star, eg when I write a text message to someone in chinese and then want to look up a word in pleco.

I read an earlier thread of other people having problems with this but there wasn't any solution posted.

Is there a fix for this?
Thanks

We still haven't managed to reproduce the problem here - does PlecoDict start up normally if you disable the handwriting recognizer before you open it? Does the problem happen even just after a soft reset (when you haven't yet run PlecoDict)?

After a soft reset, for example, I will write a text in Chinese using CE Star handwriting recogniser. If I then try to open up pleco it doesn't open.

If I open up pleco first, after a soft reset, I can use pleco normally. If I then try to open up the hand writing recogniser in CE Star, sometimes I can have pleco open at the same time, sometimes it crashes.

Also, sometimes I can't even open up the handwriting recogniser and have to soft reset no matter what I have opened.

Difficult to know if it's a pleco bug or a phone bug - probably most likely a bug with the Qtek/WTC Wizard - it seems there are many.

It's not a major problem, just that it would be good to be writing a message and if I forget how to write a character I'd like to switch quickly to pleco to show me how to write it.

Yeah, that's the sort of bug that you can try for days to reproduce without success, but this gives us a slightly better idea at least - something must be interfering with and/or bringing out a bug in PlecoDict's startup/load procedure. Could be a conflict between the two handwriting recognizers, actually - one thing you could try is soft resetting your Pocket PC and then using a file explorer program that can view hidden files (the built-in File Explorer program can't, but Resco and others can) to go to \\Program Files\PlecoDict and rename PlecoHWR.dll to something else (like PlecoHWRTemp.dll). That way, PlecoDict won't find it and won't try to load it on startup, so you'll only have one handwriting recognition engine running at a time.
