Can't install mingliU font on WM5

I have a E-Ten m600+ (changed from Clie npg 760c running Palm) running windows mobile 5.0. I first downloaded the demo and then installed the key. I have tried several times to install the MingLiu font as I am in Taiwan and learning traditional characters. It never seems to want to be installed. With the other font I am asked by the mobile to install onto card or device. I have also tried to install all the fonts, but to no avial.

Is this a common problem? Simsum is working fine, but I would like to see what the mingliu looks like. Is it worth it?

Thanks for any advice on this issue

In my opinion, it doesn't value the pain (word for word translation of a phrase on a sign in a Spanish church.) Meaning: It's not worth it.

Simsun contains both simplified and traditional character sets, if I remember correctly. And if you have a WM5 phone, you will quickly run out of main memory. Since fonts have to be installed in main memory (unless you want to try Fonts on Storage (Google for it), and most font sets are big, I'd stick with the font already installed.

As for PD, be sure to install it to a storage card. Some elements will still install themselves into main memory, but you should be able to get all the dictionaries onto your storage card.

I tend to agree with sfrrr, actually - the MingLiU was a throw-in with the SimSun license so we figured we might as well include it, but both fonts cover essentially the same set of characters and the differences between them are pretty minor.

I'm not sure why MingLiU wouldn't install, though - have you tried installing it manually? Click on the Mac/Linux download link for the paid-version fonts in My Orders, the MingLiU font file should be inside, connect your Pocket PC to your desktop, open up My Computer, Mobile Device, My Windows Mobile-based Device, Program Files, PlecoDict, and drag MingLiU into that folder.

Thanks for the quick responses. I did install it manually and discovered that I can't tell the difference.

Thanks for the help.
