Can the dictionary tell what a character's root radical is?

I find when I'm learning characters, its very useful for me to know what the root radical is, so I can get a sense as to the meaning of the word. This is after all how we look up the words.

Wondering if the other way can be done with Pleco's dictionaries? Where if we know the character from the pinyin, you can identify what radical it's from.

Yes, but at the moment it's a bit awkward; the only place in the UI where it's actually displayed is in the stroke order diagrams screen (only available if you've purchased that add-on module). The next time we update the Unihan database add-on, it should be possible to see the radical character in that (rather than just the radical number), but for now all you can do is get the radical number and cross-reference that with a standard Kangxi radical chart.
