buy 1.03 or wait for 2.0?

I have recently purchased a Treo and have planned on purchasing Pleco Complete Bundle. With all the talk about the new version, my question is: should I wait to buy Pleco once version 2.0 comes out or should I purchase 1.03 and just upgrade once it comes out? Thanks!!

Also, I can't tell you how much my friends rave about Pleco, so I'm looking forward to utilizing Pleco in my Chinese study.

Purchase Now

I'm not affiliated with the company... I'm just a satisfied user but here is my personal opinion

Based on the current policy, if I were you, I would purchase v1.0.3 right now so that you can start using it right away. Personally, I see no sense in waiting since according to Mike's policy, anyone that purchases the Complete/Professional version of PlecoDict after July 1, 2006 is entitled to a free upgrade to version 2.0 (http://www.pleco.com/pdpreview.html). You might as well start getting all the benefits of using PlecoDict right now instead of waiting since you will get upgraded to version 2.0 for free.

Here is a snippet of what is on that page:

What is your upgrade policy?
For customers who bought / buy the Professional or Complete bundle of PlecoDict after July 1st of 2006, Pleco 2.0 will be a free upgrade - you'll only have to pay if you want to add on any new dictionaries.

For customers who bought / buy the Basic bundle of PlecoDict after July 1st of 2006, you'll receive all of Pleco 2.0 except for the new stroke order diagram and audio pronunciation features as a free upgrade. You'll be able to buy those two features together at a special discounted price of just $9.95. We're increasing the price of the Basic bundle by $10 with the release of Pleco 2.0, so effectively you pay the same regardless of whether you buy now or later. As with Professional / Complete purchasers, you'll also have to pay if you want to add on any new dictionaries.

You stated in your question that you would be purchasing the Complete/Professional version so you would be entitled to a free upgrade once version 2 is available.

He's right, you know. All of us have been using PD as it is now and most of us couldn't live without it--it's immensely useful as it is now. It's just that it will get more useful in version 2. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
