On Android, it's not possible (afaik) to directly save to the Dropbox folder AND have it upload the files. I.E. you can save to that folder, but Dropbox ignores the file.
However, it is possible in a two step process. (Would love to see direct Dropbox integration with Pleco sometime
)
1) Export the file somewhere
2) Use a file explorer to browse to that file (again this is all on Android). I just use "File Manager" on my ASUS tablet, but there are many free apps available.
3) Press and hold the file until you get a menu.
4) Choose the "Share" option. If you have Dropbox installed then select it.
That will give you options as to where to put it within your Dropbox folder structure, and will do the upload.
Update: This doesn't quite work with a full backup, although it does with flashcard backups with either .txt or .xml
For the full backup (.pqb file type), I had to choose to mail it to myself as an attachment after choosing "share".
