AirDrop in iOS 7

It would be cool to be able to share individual decks (flashcard categories) to nearby friends, if the API for this new feature isn't too mafan... Maybe in the version after next?

It's virtually no mafan at all, actually, but we already support it through the "Share Files" command in Settings - Apple just added an official way to do the same thing. (we were piggybacking on their code for local game networking before, but the same basic protocols in any case)

We might, however, consider adding a UI to share lists right from Organize without having to export them first.

Not yet clear whether AirDrop will work for iOS / Mac sharing - would be quite awesome if so, more convenient than Dropbox.

Oh, that would be great. The extra step of exporting before you can share flashcards is quite a hassle, and for only sharing a single flashcard list, it never seems to work quite as expected.

One thing to consider is that AirDrop—mystifyingly—won't work on the 3rd gen iPad, the iPhone 4S or the 4th gen iPod Touch. It'll be at least a couple of years before developers can rely on it.

We already support file sharing through our own separate system, so that's not such a big deal - we'll keep "Share Files" around for users of older devices and support AirDrop for newer ones.
