Add-on dictionaries

Hi mike,

i tried to install the LDC dictionary, but Plecodict just won't show it in the dictionary list.

I first used a card reader to copy it to my Memory Stick/Pleco directory, didn't work. Then i tried a normal Hotsync to Palm RAM, didn't work.

Could you please give some more instructions on this?

Which directory exactly?
I personnaly have it in the /PALM/Programs/PlecoDict directory, and it is OK.
However, I have a '?' icon instead of the name (which is normal according to Mike), so no real proof but when moving from one dict to another, I have the same number of icons that I have dict files on my MS.
Don't try to install dictionaries through hotsync : it is too long. Rather prefer the "Data Import" way.

it's in the directory that all my other pleco files are in (which all work without problems).

it is a dictionary database, no flashcard list for import, right? (didn't show up in the import lists screen, anyway).

i don't know why it won't be recognized by plecodict. maybe because i didn't use hotsync or dataimport?

How did you do if not hotsync and no dataimport ? Did you use a card reader ? Anyway, if the file is transfered without error, all should work.
I would suggest that you try aagain the file transfer using the Data Import of your Sony Clie.

I confirm that LDC is in my dictionary list, together with NWP and Oxford E-C.

as stated above, i did use a card reader. but i just tried the data import, too, which also didn't work. no additional dictionary is in my dictionary list.

This is probably a stupid question, but which dictionary list are you looking at? If it's the one under the "Cycle Dictionaries" button, are you sure that you're in English-to-Chinese mode? The LDC is an English-to-Chinese dictionary, so it wouldn't show up in the Chinese-to-English dictionary list. Does the LDC show up in the "Paid Dicts" list in the Ordering screen?
