Flashcard

Hi,

Sorry if this information is available elsewhere, thanks in advance if you're helping.
Am interested in Pleco for flashcards. Hoping to improve my vocabulary, something like testing 10-30 flashcards a day, and assuming Pleco uses Spaced Repetition.
i) I only see HSK 3.0 under card categories. How do I get more? Searching for files from the File Exchange forum? Or is it under the paid Flashcard System?
ii) Also not very clear what I would get from the paid Flashcard system? Like more functionality, or i.e. more card categories like HSK 1, HSK 2, etc?
iii) I know it's subjective, but would the Basic Bundle be recommended if I'm mainly interested in the Flashcard system?

1) If you tap on HSK 3.0 there are specific levels underneath it. There are some other lists in flashcard exchange, but also you can import lists you find elsewhere if you just reformat them into:

characters<tab>pinyin<tab>definition

one item per line, and put a category name with two //s before it:

//My Flashcard List

at the top of the file.

2) Biggest features are spaced repetition and other test modes like fill-in-the-blanks and multi-choice.

3) It really depends on whether you have use for any other features in it. But also if you buy the flashcard system and then a few weeks later you decide you wish you'd bought the bundle instead, just email us and we should be able to refund it or set up a discounted upgrade for you.

Have gone ahead with buying the Flashcard System. Still really lost on how to set things up, but just want to get the ball rolling.
How do I remove the traditional Chinese on the flashcard though?

Go into New Test / Display and turn on 'force character set.'

I bought this App years ago and have only used it really for it's dictionary. Should I already have a basic flashcard capability? [That seems implied in marklim81's comment but I don't see that in my App.] I'm interested in 3 different sets of flashcards: Just characters (and maybe radicals), generic vocabulary, and words I come across in my reading. Do I need the paid version to do this--and can I do each of these?

The free version on Android supports basic flashcard tests - do you see a “new test” command in the sidebar menu?

You can do all of the types of test you mention even with the free version, but you’d have to create those flashcard lists yourself as the only built in ones we offer are for the HSK test.
