Pleco->Anki flashcards: Tone colors do not work

Hi,

I am using Pleco in combination with Ankidroid to generate Flashcards. I want the (English) definition as the question and simplified, tranditional and tone-colored pinyin as the answer.

This works well, with one exception: I cannot get it to transfer my tone colors to the Anki flashcards.

I am using these "Configure Card Models" Settings:

Front:
- Include fields: df
- include examples [ ]
- plaintext definition [ ]

Back:
- Include fields: sc, py, tc
- Traditional first [ ]
- Format as Pleco Header [x]
- Mandarin system: Pinyin with tone marks
- Mandarin spacing: don't change
- tone color characters [ ]
- tone color pronunciation [ ]

With these settings, my answer field for "page" (页) looks like this

页 [頁] PY yè

So instead of coloring "yè", the "PY" text is added.

Any help?

I realized that pinyin is indeed colored when shown as an answer in my reviewing session (Not in the deck list). However, the colors do not match the ones I use in Pleco. Is there a way to fix that? I would be grateful for any ideas. Thanks!

That's weird - could you describe how the colors differ?

Also, you don't have 'tone color characters' or 'tone color pronunciation' checked in your settings - are those in fact checked? Does it help if you turn off 'format as Pleco Header'?

Ok, I figured it out. It had to do with me using Anki in dark mode, which automatically inverted all hex colored specified on my cards - including the ones exported from Pleco. I switched to light mode and now everything is as it should be. Thank you anyway!
