Having an issue with the "Hide example button" in the Audio settings

My intent was to remove the speaker button that is next to all of the examples. So I came across the "Hide example button" in the audio section that had this description:
"Hide the text-to-speech audio buttons which normally appear next to example sentences"

The issue is that when I select the button and then exit the audio section through the back button; the button is then automatically deselected.

Any advice?

Update to the latest version of Pleco, we fixed this a few releases ago. Settings the TTS system in Settings / Audio to "None" also gets rid of a lot of loudspeaker buttons.
