Above is a link to the pda/phone I am thinking of getting to replace the pda and phone I have now... does anyone think this might not work or would it be ok... I have been comparing it with my pda (acer n50) and phone (motorola L7) and it seems to compare well with both... sure I lose a bit of screen and a bit of standby time but it seems to be worth it... ideas?? cheers

Looks like it should certainly work, but it seems rather bulky for a phone with no QWERTY keyboard - the big screen is certainly an advantage over the Treo 750 and its ilk, but if you're not getting the easy text input it seems like you might be better off with a slimmer keyboard-less Pocket PC phone like the HTC Touch.

ASUS has a very good reputation for hardware quality, though, so I suppose that's something in their favor.

Thanks Mike... it appears bulky in the specs but when I held it yesterday it didnt feel that bulky... one of the reasons I like it is for some of the features it has... plus I like a keyboard on my phone (being the old fashioned git that I am :D ) so it seems nearly perfect.. good to know Asus has a rep for good quality too... cheers mate...

How about this one? It's a bit smaller and lighter.

Dimensions: 58 x 110 x 15.4 millimetres

The bigger screen of ASUS P525 would be better for reading books, though.

Thanks for the links Gato... I had read one of the reviews before (msm I think) but not the other and the other was a brilliant site for comparisons etc... much appreciated... The 526 is ok but not quite what I am after.. and now I find that this month they will be releasing the big brother of the 525 which has gps and stuff too, so I will wait and get that one if its out soon... thanks again...
